Frequently Asked Questions
7. Reloading from scratch in case of corrupted database.
Q: If my client database is inadvertently deleted or corrupted, does SyncSmart allow me to reload from scratch?
A: yes. SyncSmart uses server side criteria profiles to identify the subset of server data that each client database receives. Should the remote client database be inadvertently deleted, corrupted or a hardware failure occurs, the synchronization administrator simply resets the criteria profile and the next sync-session will rebuild the client database from a predetermined point, or from scratch. The capability to perform a complete refresh of data on demand can be built into the client application as well, allowing a user to restore information in the shortest possible time and without administrative intervention. Client database reloads or refreshes are a lot more complicated in transaction logging type synchronization products.
